Cat & Dog Films was established by Liam Branagan and Eve Spence.   Liam and Eve have collaborated successfully on a number of award winning short films, and are currently developing feature projects.

 

They both have an extensive industry background, having worked on documentary and television drama in the roles of Director, Producer, First Assistant Director, Writer, and Script Supervisor on a great variety of productions in both Australia and the UK.

  • Our short film ZPR 359 recently won second prize in competition at the Tasmanian Breath of Fresh Air Film Festival!


  • Our short film ZPR 359 has screened at the International Migration & Environmental Film Festival in Canada, North America’s largest on Migration and Sustainability. It was selected for the prestigious Oaxaca FF in Mexico, screened at the 29th International Adana Golden Boll Film Festival, one of Turkey’s oldest, and at other film festivals.


  • Common Ground has received development finance through the Screen Australia Generate Fund.


  • Common Ground has been selected to the 9 month ATTAGIRL program, virtually attending the Toronto, Rotterdam and Sydney Film Festivals in 2020 and 21. The project is receiving ongoing mentorship and development alongside 12 other internationally selected projects.

  • Common Ground has been selected for the Sources 2 Lab in 2020. Sources 2 is funded by Creative Europe.


  • May, 2019. Common Ground, has been selected to attend Dame Changer’s 2nd Edition of SCREEN TANK

    Liam worked on the feature film The Merger as Associate Producer.  The film was released by Umbrella Entertainment in September 2018.

     

     

     


  • May 2018, Truesong is selected to Dame Changer’s new initiative SCREEN TANK.  Eve & Liam attended a three day intensive to discuss bringing the film to market.


  • Shack Life history-colour-lightbghas been sold to Foxtel History Channel for broadcast in 2018.

    The latest draft of Truesong is in the Official Selection of the

    2016 Oaxaca Film Festival Global Script Challenge.


  • Binger LogoTruesong is selected for the Binger Writer and Creative Producers Lab 2014/15 in Amsterdam, and Eve’s attendance is supported by Screen Australia through their Talent Escalator Program.  Liam will also attend Binger’s “Six Day’s of Practice” script development workshop.
